Principles and Values of CD Approach
1.       Target service to those most in need
2.       work with people not for them
3.      Enable and support communities to identify and articulate their own needs, priorities and agenda for action.
4.    Support the development of local knowledge, information and research to identify the needs of specific communities.
5.       Promote action which seeks to tackle discriminaiton, inequalities and social exclusion.
6.       Facilitater lical communities in taking steps themselves to address their needs.
7.   Mobilize local participation of individuals and communities in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of services to ensure they are responsive to user needs
8.       Promote the development of healthy allience between communities and helping agencies.
9.     Influence the policies and practice of organizations to ensure they contribute to the well being of local communities.

   Community development is the process of helping a community strengthen itself and develop towards its full potential. As facilitators, we work in partnership with local people and organizzations to meet identified needs.- by SIL International

   Ten Principles of Community Development-SIL
1.       Start where people are
2.       Built relation then introduce new ideas, showing how they meet identified needs
3.       Keep project simple
4.       Involves a many community people as possible in all activities from the start
5.       Train People close to their home communities
6.       Train in locally acceptable ways

   Community development is the process of community coming together around its shared goals. It involves community member’s developing a sense of common vision. It is an inclusive process which reaches out to all segment of the community to ensure every one participates in identifying their needs making decisions and taking actions. – RD hand Book Of Canada
